Consults with users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify program objectives. Being an EHR Application Analyst may be expected to write documentation describing program development, logic, coding, and corrections. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, EHR Application Analyst requires EPIC Certification in one or more dedicated modules, such as Scheduling, Emergency Room, Patient Registration, or other medical specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The EHR Application Analyst work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     WHAT YOU'LL DO:

    Our HIT analysts share a vision of providing outstanding technical support services with the to the EHC staff, helping to ensure the successful utilization and operations of the EMR software. Successful HIT analysts thrive in collaborative working environments with the result of helping to strategically implement operational workflows, conduct thorough data analysis, and assist with user administration, training and support documentation related to Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Our HIT analysts work closely with EHC leadership to leverage potential key or “super” users within clinic locations with the goal of creating strong on site specialist that help create internal self-support resources for EPIC training and troubleshooting.


    The successful candidate will be willing and able to:

    • Provide clinical and operational training and materials for EPIC
    • Provide business/clinical EHR/IT support in specific areas such as patient encounters, patient scheduling, clinical workflows and business operations of EPIC
    • Investigate and resolve complex user issues, data queries and workflow problems
    • Research and recommend template and workflow changes to meet patient needs and provider productivity standards
    • Develop, prepare, and lead training sessions in group, one-on-one and virtual settings
    • Assist data analytics teams with data locations from provider workflows to drive reporting metrics
    • Some travel between various office and clinic locations

    Requirements

    The successful candidate has:

    • A.S. Degree in Business, Computer Science or other business related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience
    • 1 to 3 years of experience with business/clinical related information systems as a business analyst/consultant
    • Functional application experience in a healthcare environment is desirable
    • Knowledge of EMR systems (EPIC strongly preferred)
    • Knowledge of medical terms
    • Hands-on technical knowledge and experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint), MS Windows 10/7
    • Strong analytical and problem solving
    • Excellent written and oral communication


    Physical Requirements and Work Environment


    The work environment is characteristic of normal office conditions. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to handle or lift. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus. The employee must also possess hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the phone. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

    Additional Requirements

    • Must have a current and valid California driver’s license and the ability to provide proof of personal auto insurance on the vehicle driven during working hours.
