EHR Application Analyst plans, analyzes, designs and modifies EHR (electronic health record) software applications, including encoding, testing, debugging and installing to support the implementation of one or more software modules. Consults with users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify program objectives. Being an EHR Application Analyst may be expected to write documentation describing program development, logic, coding, and corrections. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, EHR Application Analyst requires EPIC Certification in one or more dedicated modules, such as Scheduling, Emergency Room, Patient Registration, or other medical specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The EHR Application Analyst work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. The Application Analyst, EHR will serve as a system expert in specific Epic Applications (EpicCare, MyChart, Beacon, EpicCare Link, etc) and oversees the staff in the department. They will participate in the system design, build validation, implementation and ongoing maintenance of designated Epic applications. Thoroughly documenting user workflows as well as design decisions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or applicable field (i.e. Nursing, Health Care Administration, Business, Medicine, or affiliated health profession) and three years work related experience in the information technology field or applicable field (i.e. Nursing, Health Care Administration, Business, Medicine, or affiliated health profession); OR
Associate’s degree in computer science or applicable field (i.e. Nursing, Health Care Administration, Business, Medicine, or affiliated health profession) and four years work related experience in the information technology field or applicable field (i.e. Nursing, Health Care Administration, Business, Medicine, or affiliated health profession); OR
Five years work related experience in the information technology field or applicable field (i.e. Nursing, Health Care Administration, Business, Medicine, or affiliated health profession)
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
Experience implementing an Electronic Health Record in a clinical setting, preferably EpicCare.
