EHR Database Report Writer is responsible for data administration, analysis and management reporting from EHR (electronic health record) database. Collaborates with end users to understand reporting requirements and uses Clarity or similar report writer software to create a variety of simple to complex reports using Structured Query Language (SQL) queries. Being an EHR Database Report Writer typically requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty, Epic/Cerner or similar certification. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be an EHR Database Report Writer typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     QUALIFICATIONS:


    1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
    2. 3-5 years of experience in data management, integration, and reporting.
    3. Proficiency in data integration tools, APIs, and middleware.
    4. Experience with Infinite Campus, SunGard, and Clever is a plus.
    5. Proficiency in data management tools, databases, and data visualization platforms (e.g., SQL, Python, Tableau, etc.).
    6. Proficiency in website development and maintenance.
    7. Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and practices.
    8. Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
    9. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
    10. Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy and quality.
    11. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.


    REPORTS TO: Director of Information Technology or his/her designee


    Objective: To assist the Database & Information Systems Manager in improving overall district data quality; submit accurate data to local, state, federal agencies; assess, review, and implement applications as needed by Superintendent or his/her designee; and provide accurate data, in the format desired, to all department leaders.


    Essential Job Functions:
    1. Optimize database structures and indexes for improved query performance.
    2. Provide technical support for the student information system, finance and human resource applications, addressing user          inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and assisting with configuration changes.
    3. Collaborate with end-users and stakeholders to ensure effective utilization of the system's capabilities.
    4. Design, develop, and manage data integrations and extracts between various systems and databases.
    5. Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across integrated platforms.
    6. Collaborate with the supervisor to integrate applications using APIs and middleware, ensuring seamless data exchange.
    7. Monitor API performance and troubleshoot integration issues as needed.
    8. Support the development, maintenance, and updates of the organization's websites, ensuring a user-friendly experience          and accurate information.
    9. Develop and maintain data reports, dashboards, and visualizations to provide insights for decision-making.
    10. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and present data in a meaningful way.
    11. Manage and maintain databases, ensuring data accuracy, security, and efficient performance.
    12. Support data warehousing initiatives, ensuring data is efficiently stored, organized, and accessible for analysis.
    13. Oversee asset management systems, ensuring accurate tracking and management of organizational assets.
    14. Assist with development, implementation, and management of single sign on authentication.
    15. Any other duties assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designee.


    POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:


    LANGUAGE SKILLS:
    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.


    REASONING ABILITY:
    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


    OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
    Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in specific field. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
