Description
Position Title: Electronic Health Record (EHR) Specialist
Summary: This position will maintain the Electronic Health Record and provide training and ongoing support to employees. Will also work collaboratively with outside vendors to troubleshoot and improve system functions and capabilities.
Classification: Exempt/Full-Time/Salary
Supervision: Reports to the Director of Quality
Completion of all compliance training and educational programs is a requirement of employment.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the administration, support, system interfacing, and training for eClinical Works (ECW)
- Provide first line support for users and clinicians with questions and issues
- Document issues and response in ticketing system to ensure high level responsiveness and satisfaction
- Configure user profiles and manage all user licenses within eClinical Works
- Conduct staff trainings and coordinate trainings with software vendors
- Generate system reports for quality & overall system use
- Participate in upgrade planning, user process development, and training
- Manage projects related to software on an as needed basis
- Ensure the software functions efficiently each day
- Research, evaluate, and test new software and software upgrades
- Remain up to date on current trends and updated software features
- Conduct mapping & data validation
- Collaboration with IT Department/personnel
- Assists with implementation and management of Azara
- Conducts Azara trainings to ensure proper utilization of the software to offer best results to the organization
- Leads the eClinical Works Committee
- Designs and implements system templates and workflows
- Develops applicable protocols and assists with policies as needed
- Maintains strict confidentiality at all times
- Adheres to the standards and policies of the Organizational Privacy/Security and Compliance Programs, including the duty to comply with applicable laws and regulations (HIPAA, OSHA, OIG Guidelines, other State and Federal laws). This also includes reporting to the Board of Directors, Compliance Officer, Privacy Officer, and supervisor any suspected unethical, fraudulent, or unlawful acts or practices.

Driving: 10 minutes to 4 hours at a time routinely
Vision: color distinction necessary
Hearing: no greater loss than 40dB average for 500, 1000, 2000 Hz
Qualifications
- Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Health Information Technology (HIT) or Certified Medical Assistant combined with Health Information Management Degree from an accredited university or college
- Preferred RHIT certification
- Must have experience with eClinical Works
- Experience with Azara preferred
- Experience with project management
- Must have an interdisciplinary & system thinking approach
- Experience working with electronic health records
- Knowledge of medical terminology, billing, and coding preferred
- Must have excellent multi-tasking, problem solving, and decision making skills
- Ability to follow instructions with attention to detail
- Demonstrates professional relationship skills, and a strong work ethic
- Prioritizes responsibilities, takes initiative, and possesses excellent organizational skills
- Demonstrates effective communication skills
- Must be willing to travel as assigned
