Summary:
HIT Application Specialist is responsible for configuration and maintenance of Information Systems. Configures, tests, documents, implements, and supports NextGen application systems by coordinating with vendor representatives, system users, project team members, coworkers, and management.
Participates in project teams, configuration, implementation, ongoing maintenance, and support for all NextGen application systems. Providing Help Desk support managing tickets and support issues; serve as a health center resource and participate in development/refinement/trainings as needed. Provide leadership with information, analysis, and recommendations regarding, best practices in NextGen system for, but no limited to, insurance eligibility, patient demographic input, clinical charting, and coding. quality measures and regulations for FQHC to ensure compliance.
Develop and maintain data reporting systems for data gathering, reporting and analyzing activities. Fully understand and process the functions and all applications on the EHR side and the EPM side of NextGen

Knowledge of health center operations, workflows, processes, and documentation requirements
