FlexCNC and FlexJet Project Manager: Job Description
Reporting directly to the President, the FlexCNC and FlexJet Project Manager is responsible for the overall strategy, development, and execution of all production and order fulfillment operations. The FlexCNC and FlexJet Project Manager will assist with coordinating all activities included in FlexCNC and FlexJet order fulfillment process, across all departments, as necessary.
Job Responsibilities
Take handoff from the sales department (sales order and deliverables).
Analyze and familiarize yourself and the team with the scope and specifications of the project.
Create a schedule for production, based on the most current knowledge and the customers requirements.
Identify project goals, needs, and scope.
Plan, monitor, and document tasks throughout a project.
Ensure all tasks, deliverables, and project materials are delivered promptly and in time to align with the project completion date.
Manage all resources necessary for project execution.
Participate actively with engineering in any part of the project that requires an engineered solution.
Provide effective communications with stakeholders concerning project status, including salesperson, customer, engineering, applications engineering, assembly, and service.
Foresee and strategically eliminate potential risks, which could be detrimental to project success.
Ensure quality results and success for the project by meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
Ensure that project-specific parts and materials are ordered based on the production schedule.
Monitor progress of production and communicate any changes in the project completion schedule to all stakeholders, including salesperson, customer, engineering, applications engineering, assembly, and service.
Monitor overall progress of the project and report to accounting for invoicing milestones.
Perform a project closeout and develop a punch list of outstanding issues, if necessary, and
communicate them to project stakeholders, including customer, sales, engineering, applications ,engineering, operations, and service.
Necessary Qualities
Leadership and Effective Communication—must effectively lead and communicate with their teams as well as stakeholders throughout the entire lifecycle of a project, from the initiation of a sales order to successful installation.
Organization and Time Management—must handle the organization and delegation of tasks. They must also ensure that all project materials and deliverables are completed on time.
Creative Problem Solving and Adaptability—must understand how to resolve issues and adapt their projects creatively to avoid project failures.
Experience/Qualifications:
Previous experience in a project management role.
Understanding of project technical requirements.
Previous experience in a project setting with project scope development.
Previous experience within the machine tool manufacturing industry is a plus.
Skills:
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate across all levels.
Motivated with a good work ethic and time management.
Motivate project stakeholders and team members throughout a project’s lifecycle.
Manage the project team, as necessary, to ensure quality results and on-time completion of project
