EHR Project Manager is responsible for the coordination and completion of projects involving the planning, design, and implementation of EHR (electronic health record) software applications. Oversees all aspects of projects. Being an EHR Project Manager sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors and summarizes progress of project. Builds and maintains working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved in the projects. Additionally, EHR Project Manager prepares project status reports. Requires Epic, Cerner, or similar product certification. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The EHR Project Manager work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THIS ROLE (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
Under general supervision, this position formulates and defines system scope and objectives for the Epic EHR (electronic health record) and other ancillary systems. Uses research and fact-finding to develop, configure or modify Epic and other integrated applications to create a comprehensive EHR solution. Analyzes and revises existing system logic and documentation as necessary. This position will be responsible for the on-going maintenance, testing and support of Health Link within Agrace. This requires the individual to remain current with the system and/or application as well as interfacing with UW Health analysts and Epic Systems representatives. Competent to work on most phases of applications systems analysis activities but requires instruction and guidance in other phases. Works collaboratively with clinical and business owners to provide IT solutions that meet the needs of the areas involved.
