EHR Project Manager is responsible for the coordination and completion of projects involving the planning, design, and implementation of EHR (electronic health record) software applications. Oversees all aspects of projects. Being an EHR Project Manager sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors and summarizes progress of project. Builds and maintains working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved in the projects. Additionally, EHR Project Manager prepares project status reports. Requires Epic, Cerner, or similar product certification. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The EHR Project Manager work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. To be a successful EHR Trainer you must become able to do the following always:
Coordinate and facilitate training sessions for staff and others as determined, including publishing training calendars, performing required mandatory and on-going skills development, using appropriate training tools to ensure transfer of learning,
Prepare and manage data and paperwork necessary to meet all required training requirements and guidelines. Responsible for training database entry. Track staff training and ensure staff training transcripts are accurate and updated. Regular reporting on training goals. Responsible for monitoring training attendance and effectiveness.
Assist with regular training needs assessments and curriculum development. Work closely and consult with the EHR Administrator to identify basic and advanced-level training needs. Collaborate with subject matter experts to research, design and develop training programs. Ensure that training programs meet accreditation and licensing standards, as well as current policies and procedures. Adapt training to changing company needs. Participate in and consult with groups and committees regarding training topics.
