Description: TEKsystems is looking to add an RPG Developer to their team. They have a person retiring and need to replace them. Their current ERP system is JDA, now owned by Blue Yonder, and runs on AS/400 iSeries. They are looking for someone with proven RPG skills and the willingness to branch outside of RPG. Will provide support to the current system as well as enhancements; they also have future plans for modernization and Cloud initiatives. Job Description The ideal RPG Developer candidate will have strong experience with the following technologies: AS400/iSeries/IBMI, DB2/i database, i SQL (DDL, UDT, UDF, Triggers, Constraints), RPG IV/ILE/400/FREE/Imbedded SQL, Procedures and Service Programs - FTP, and Secured FTP. A Subject Matter Expert in at least one system or application and able to answer any question that come from business partner. Provides analysis and design work in programming and create flow charts for technical and process analysis so that the project team can understand the data flow. Technically lead and mentor other developers to produce error-free development. Effectively communicate with business users, and suggest process improvements, configuration changes, day to day user activities, write pseudo technical documents for super users. Analyze issues with a quick and long term solution. Utilizes team work on quick solution while still validating the long term solution. Supports business applications through resolving trouble with applications, facilitating changes to applications through migrations, and supports other IT Organizations in providing support to the business community. Serves as a contributor and member to project teams in the applications area. Completes administration tasks, such as status reporting and documentation. Supports the business community in monitoring and enhancing the performance of business applications, including applications that are key components to the success of our business. Must have 'hands-on' RPG programming and development experience working on multiple projects of high complexity, preferably in the financial services on AS400/iSeries/IBMI. Expert knowledge and fluency with: - All aspects of ILE and CL - Binding directories, binder source, prototypes, prototype interfaces, private and public procedures, appropriate activation group usage, service programs - DB2/i database, i SQL (DDL, UDT, UDF, Triggers, Constraints), along with data centric architecture, design, programming, performance - Software/DB modernization, analysis, design, and construction including application of modern DB, OO, and modular software concepts and patterns - RPG IV/ILE/400/FREE/Imbedded SQL, Procedures and Service Programs - FTP, and Secured FTP. Low supervision of work, depending on experience Strong independent judgment and discretion used in decision-making; uses sound judgment in executing core job responsibilities Resolves issues of high complexity.
