ERP Programmer develops, reviews, and modifies the programming to support the configuration of the organization's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications. Analyzes ERP system performance and encodes and debugs any issues or vulnerabilities to improve the integrity, security, or application of the system. Being an ERP Programmer develops coding to support the programming of new ERP modules and system upgrades and assists with the configuration planning and deployment of releases. Ensures ERP data and system infrastructure security, designs patches for vulnerabilities, and develops backup processes. Additionally, ERP Programmer plans and designs application tables, reports, and new modules to improve system configuration, functionality, and efficiency. Coordinates software integration and maintains technical documentation. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The ERP Programmer work is closely managed. Essential Functions:
Decision-Making/Supervisory: Receives general review of functional specifications and task priorities from a project leader or supervisor.
Receives detailed review of program specifications. May provide guidance or instruction to other employees in demonstrating how to perform tasks or resolve
problems.
Problems encountered include finding and correcting operational errors, determining how to design a systems
enhancement and testing programs and systems.
Works with user staff, project leaders and supervisors and other technical staff to determine functional
requirements for programs, systems enhancements or to resolve operational problems. Participates in team
interaction.
Must have some experience in data analysis, accessing data via SQL queries, and report design. Requires basic knowledge of business functional area(s) and its supporting applications systems, technical platform capabilities, planning, conducting user interviews, data analysis, structural systems design methodology, and the principles of systems design, on-line design and database design.
