Principal ERP Management Consultant
  • ERP Advisors Group
  • Lakewood, CO FULL_TIME
  • Description

ERP Advisors Group is currently looking to add a Principal ERP Management Consultant to our expanding team to be a Project Lead for our Needs Analysis, Software Selection, and Implementation projects. This is a client-facing advisory role, not a technical developer role.

The Principal ERP Management Consultant advises our mid-market clients (CFOs, Controllers, Directors of IT, and CEOs) on their biggest software initiatives - ERP, CRM, HCM, and associated best-of-breed applications. This role requires direct ERP advisory consulting experience. The right candidate must already have the skill set to be a project leader, only needing familiarization with ERP Advisors Groups tools and methodology.

To qualify as a Principal ERP Management Consultant, a candidate must have a breadth of experience across many industries (Professional Services, e-Commerce, Wholesale Distribution, Manufacturing, Software, Nonprofits, etc.) and many prevalent Tier 1 and Tier 2 ERP vendors (Microsoft Dynamics 365, NetSuite, Intacct, Infor, Oracle, Acumatica, etc.) The right candidate will have a proven record of high weekly billable hours, project budget oversight, change order creation, project planning, and excellent MS Office skills. Previous ERP Business Case development, ERP Selection, and ERP Implementation experience are prerequisites for consideration in this role.

    Requirements

Principal ERP Management Consultant Job Duties:

    • Prepare and be responsible for deliverables (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Smartsheet) that show an excellent understanding of the client's business processes and requirements.
    • Independently run client meetings and be the lead advisor on projects.
    • Review deliverables with clients and keep regular, clear project documentation from each meeting within the designated workspaces.
    • Effortlessly take typewritten notes during back-to-back onsite client meetings on a Mac laptop.
    • Able to work in a team setting with an Analyst, Consultant, and Quality Lead on each project and able to navigate the correct way to leverage each person’s talents.
    • Coordinate with junior staff on projects to ensure the completion of all project deliverables and project tasks in time for a quality review before client meetings.
    • Monitor and anticipate project overages that will necessitate a change order, fully document the reasons, the impact on timing, any additional costs, and provide advocacy for the change request process.
    • Provide weekly status updates to clients as appropriate.
    • Identify opportunities to staff additional resources on the project such as data migration assistance, business analyst tasks, integration management, additional software selections, etc.
    • Use EAG’s tools and methodology to monitor each phase of the project.
    • Train on EAG’s methodology for Needs, Selection, and Implementation.
    • Occasional travel (Less than 20%).

    Needs Analysis

    • Attend and lead subject matter expert interviews and take detailed notes that will form the basis of future deliverables.
    • Perform key analysis without supervision, including transforming interview notes into a well-thought-out analysis of the client's pain points and limitations to growth. This must be done with concise, precise thoughts communicated with clear concepts.
    • Finalize process diagrams that pictorially relate to the client's business processes.
    • Present client with recommended software type and successfully lead into the client to the next phase of work.

    Software Selection

    • Finalize RFI based on client’s unique requirements.
    • Match vendors’ suitability to client’s needs and identify and notate gaps in functionality.
    • Communicate with vendors as needed to keep them engaged in the project.
    • Facilitate software demonstrations and collect and compile scorecards.
    • Present Final Software Recommendations using information gathered during the Needs and Selection process.
    • Handle client contract negotiations for purchasing software and professional services.
    • Assist the client with selecting a qualified Implementation partner.

    Implementation Advisory Services

    • Advise clients on the direction on design, configuration, testing, training, and change management during the implementation phase.
    • Manage the relationship between the client and the vendor to ensure an efficient and successful implementation.
    • Identify and mitigate any risks and work with the EAG Project Coordinator to track the completion of milestones and tasks.

    Principal ERP Management Consultant Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 5 years of direct ERP management consulting experience – consulting C-level executives on their software needs, software selection and ERP implementations with current go-forward products, not just legacy products like JD Edwards, PeopleSoft, or Oracle EBS.
    • Minimum 10 years of experience working in medium to large business settings.
    • Experienced in analyzing, making recommendations, and preparing high-quality professional deliverables for a variety of business software projects, especially in Manufacturing, Distribution, Professional Services, Field Services, Construction, Nonprofit, Energy, and Technology.
    • Direct vendor vetting experience of most of the prevalent software packages including NetSuite, Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, Workday, Infor, Epicor, Sage, and Acumatica.
    • First-hand working knowledge of how the software companies sell software versus how they sell their services and the variances from vendor to vendor for their selling model.
    • Prior experience with negotiating software contracts on behalf of a variety of clients with a variety of vendors, netting the client’s savings they couldn’t have received otherwise.
    • Experience advising clients through the phases of an implementation including Change Management, Business Requirements, Design, UAT, Training, and Go-Live.
    • Proven track record in working with client executive management to successfully navigate delays and budget overages.
    • Willingness to receive feedback and corrections on misapplications or misunderstandings of EAG’s training material from a Trainer who is junior to you.
    • Receptive of feedback on receiving corrections on your deliverables and client interactions with the purpose of improving your skills as a consultant.
    • Willing to use a Mac and able to quickly get up to speed on the Mac OS.
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, Accounting, CIS, or equivalent experience.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Advanced level of experience with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and the ability to show excellent command of formatting, fonts, and ease of viewing.
    • Move, think, and act fast with document prep, speaking, typing, using software applications, and responding to clients and internal staff.
    • Ideally work from Lakewood, CO office and home office OR Tampa Bay Area office and home office (hybrid if desired).
      • Will consider 100% remote candidates who live in Texas.
      • May consider employees who are fully remote from states other than Colorado, Florida, and Texas.
