Summary: Working closely with the CFO and divisional controllers, the Corporate Controller will be focused on ensuring excellence in the areas of finance and accounting across the entire company. The Corporate Controller will execute efficient best practices and possess the capacity to analyze key performance indicators, their impact on plant operations, and the ability to work with multiple functional groups organizationally. Essential Functions:

• Working in a manner consistent with our Core Values and promoting and exemplifying our Purpose in all activities.
• Proactively identify & lead analysis of operational and financial data to provide insights into business performance, drive consistency in performance across plants and functions.
• Oversee the monthly financial statement close process, including consolidation reporting, working closely with the controller group at each operating division.
• Collaborate with functional leaders to aid in financial modeling, analysis and development of budgets including operational expenses, CAPEX, KPI’s, product costing, cost savings, special projects and planning.
• Prepare monthly financial packages for management and effectively communicate results.
• Investigate significant trends/variances for cost reduction regarding material, labor, overhead, and other types of costs related to manufacturing products.
• Prepare and analyze weekly KPI metrics scorecard, including validation and reconciliation of variances to standards, budgets and forecasts.
• Evaluate business controls and processes and ensure effective internal controls over financial reporting, and work closely with management to implement and improve controls as needed.
• Provide effective leadership for our Accounting/Finance team, including providing direction, setting expectations, providing training & development, managing performance management and providing routine coaching in order to further a high-performance culture. Responsible for financial and treasury policies, procedures, controls, reporting, providing performance analysis and assures GAAP compliance:
• Assures internal control discipline and enforcement of policies and procedures.
• Monitors cash management providing direction on daily banking and cash flow analysis.
• Provide adequate and cost-effective safeguards to company assets, including ensuring the maintenance of internal accounting and management controls, providing appropriate assistance to leadership in controlling expenses and maximizing returns to preserve value of the company.
• Lead the consolidated annual planning, budget and forecasting processes, working closely with divisional controllers and general managers at each operating division.
• Perform and ensure adequate performance of cost, profitability and business analysis as directed by leadership to meet the company’s needs and obtain profitability improvement.
• Work closely with the CFO to oversee the tactical operations of external auditors, financial institutions, various taxing authorities, and property/liability/casualty insurance brokers/carriers, as deemed necessary.
• Oversee the journal entry, month-end close, and financial statement preparation processes performed by the Accounting and Finance Function, including the consolidation and inter-company elimination processes performed centrally in Fresno.
• Provide daily detailed oversight to ensure the effectiveness, efficiency, completeness, accuracy, and timeliness over accounting areas such as: AP/AR, Cash Flow, Customer Rebates and Discounts, Route Accounting and Settlement, Sales Reporting, Vendor Updates and Pricing, New Customer Entry and Existing Customer Updates, New Item Set-up, and Milk Market Reporting.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field or commensurate training and experience. CPA and/or MBA preferred. Public accounting, auditing, and manufacturing background preferred. 10 years of leadership experience.

Ability to read and interpret financial, accounting documents, company policies and other documentation. Ability to communicate and effectively present information to internal and external parties.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform calculations relating to operational, accounting and financial analysis and apply concepts of dairy mathematics and statistics.

Critical Thinking: Must have the ability to interpret business needs and understand company operations in a manner that allows effective and relevant completion of cost and financial analysis. Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Must have the ability to interpret a variety of regulatory and technical information furnished in written, oral diagram or schedule form. Must have the ability to appropriately apply accounting theory and financial analysis mythology. Must have a fundamental understanding/knowledge of the dairy industry drivers that impact revenues and costs resulting in changes in margins. Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Salary Range: $130,000-$180,000/yearly
