Economist (Corporate) conducts research and analysis on economic data/trends and produces forecasts, interpretive reporting, and media used for risk assessment, communication, and decision making. Collects economic data from established datasets and other sources utilizing data collection and data science protocols. Being an Economist (Corporate) utilizes statistical analysis, mathematical methodologies, and modeling techniques to develop data. Designs and organizes data into unique report models and graphical illustrations to present economic information used for decision making and solution development. Additionally, Economist (Corporate) requires a bachelor's degree in economics or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Economist (Corporate) occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. GS-13 QUALIFICATIONS: and adopting new techniques to fit the needs of research projects and preparing comprehensive reports necessary for the successful completion of assignments. Experience with research and study design and administration processes from the formulation of concepts through specification and analysis of output to the presentation of conclusions. Knowledge of the Internal Revenue Code and/or other human resources policies applicable to the area of responsibility and experience with human capital data systems, the data elements contained in them, and how they can be used to conduct research; knowledge of the economic significance of the information reported on human capital documents and the impact of proposed policy changes on research projects; knowledge of the types of economic and statistical programs conducted in other Federal agencies or organizations and their usefulness in evaluating or completing research projects; and knowledge of computer programming languages and statistical software packages. Skill in written and oral communications including preparing descriptive reports, spreadsheets, statistical tables, flowcharts, and visual presentations that incorporate quantitative and qualitative analysis.
