Job Description
We are seeking a knowledgeable, detail-oriented Corporate Accountant to join the Chefman Finance team! The ideal candidate will be a hard-working professional who is able to undertake a variety of accounting tasks and work diligently under pressure both as part of a team and individually. This candidate should possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of financial principles and business structure, and the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information.
This role will be based out of the Chefman office located in Mahwah, NJ.
Role and Responsibilities
- Perform bank reconciliations for multiple companies to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Accurately calculate and prepare sales tax and VAT reports in compliance with local regulations.
- Ensure all tax filings, including but not limited to income tax and sales tax, are completed accurately, and submitted on time to regulatory authorities.
- Oversee all intercompany transactions, including those involving foreign entities with compliance to transfer pricing arrangements, and ensure proper documentation, reconciliation and consolidation.
- Monitor and manage financial transactions and overall P&L for our direct to customer companies, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and accuracy.
- Assist with month-end financial transactions, including loans, mortgages, balance sheet and income statement reconciliations and fluctuation analyses.
- Maintain short-term cash forecasts to provide the organization with a clear understanding of its liquidity position.
- Inventory adjustments and valuation.
- Ad-hoc reporting for internal leadership.
Skills and Proficiencies
- 4-6 years’ experience in accounting or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- CPA, CMA or MBA a plus
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting ERP software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Possess strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and technology skills.
Systems:
- Not required but previous experience/ exposure to eCommerce management platforms and NetSuite a plus.
