Responsible for creating and maintaining accurate and compelling content for written copy and/or websites and other online communications media. Being an Editor ensures that all content meets required and accepted format and standards. Evaluates content for clarity, accuracy, and consistency. Additionally, Editor may coordinate with creative team to produce final drafts. Requires a bachelor's degree in journalism or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Editor occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Student Writer and Editor

    Purpose

    We are a small team developing a new company transforming bold ideas into state-of-the-art solutions. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a local Student to edit work instructions for the production team. Our ideal candidate is a student who is fluid in Microsoft Office, has advanced English Skills, great at displaying photos and graphics, and exhibits strong attention to details.     Your Role

    • Observe and gather detailed information from subject-matter experts and combine, organize, and edit technical work instructions for our manufacturing team.
    • Moving step-by-step through factory topics with Subject Matter Experts taking notes and photographs for new documentation along the way.
    • Display visual illustrative pictures, blueprints, diagrams, and charts with easy-to-follow instructions.
    • Proofread and edit documents for accuracy in grammar, spelling, and formatting errors.
    • Test documentation with experts to ensure the manual is complete with procedure instructions.

    Required Skills

    • Proficient in MS Office
    • Advanced written and verbal Skills
    • Photographic skills
    • Excellent organization skills
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

    Schedule: Schedule will be between 7:30 am - 4:30 pm Monday – Thursday and 7:30 am – 2 pm Friday. Time may be adjusted within reason based on the hours above.
