Responsible for creating and maintaining accurate and compelling content for written copy and/or websites and other online communications media. Being an Editor, Sr. ensures that all content meets required and accepted format and standards. Evaluates content for clarity, accuracy, and consistency. Additionally, Editor, Sr. may coordinate with creative team to produce final drafts. May provide guidance to lower-level staff. Requires a bachelor's degree in journalism or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Editor, Sr. work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. General Description: Reporting to the Chief of External Relations, this position will originate and prepare written material, such as scripts, stories, advertisements, and other material. Work may involve internal communications, marketing/advertising, and strategic communications. Individual should be able to adhere to prescribed editorial guidelines without sacrificing creativity.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARD
General Education:
College: Bachelor's Degree required; advanced degree preferred. Major: English, Journalism, Communication Studies or related field
Job-Related Experience: Seven plus years of proven professional writing experience as well as experience in strategic communications, public affairs, and/or marketing. Experience conducting research using multiple sources. Experience working in coordination with and/or leading graphics teams in the development of visual presentations and PowerPoint. Familiarity with aerospace, launch, and/or engineering preferred.

Licenses, etc.: Valid driver's license is necessary when operating a vehicle while on agency business.
