Editor, Sr. reviews, edits, and re-writes a variety of documents and/or digital content. Responsible for creating and maintaining accurate and compelling content for written copy and/or websites and other online communications media. Being an Editor, Sr. ensures that all content meets required and accepted format and standards. Evaluates content for clarity, accuracy, and consistency. Additionally, Editor, Sr. may coordinate with creative team to produce final drafts. May provide guidance to lower-level staff. Requires a bachelor's degree in journalism or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Editor, Sr. work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     THE TEAM / The SuperJoy associate editor will work across the company to support active projects in post-production. You will lend your skill set to create impactful content to the highest professional standards. You will learn how the business of a production company and creative studio operates working closely with seasoned editors, flame artists, audio engineers, producers, and company leadership.     YOU ARE / A multi-disciplinary creative expert. You will be part of a growing division producing video and social content for some of America’s biggest brands. You have created beautiful video and motion assets for the last 3-5 years. You know content production workflows inside and out and have influenced impactful creative by making it move and telling a story. You can move between storytelling, illustration, typography, and color with ease. Adobe Premiere, After Effects and Photoshop are tools you know well. You are skilled in creating videos in all shapes and sizes as the channel requires and you do it organized and well.

     

    YOUR IMPACT / You'll:

     

    Handle many of the technical aspects of post-production, including:

    • Breaking down dailies, organizing files, prepping outside assets.
    • Recording and cleaning up scratch track voice overs.
    • Set and create simple graphics legal, basic animations and end cards.
    • Search for music options.
    • Prep offline edits for finish (color correction, conform, and mix).
    • Export files, create compressions and postings for final deliverables and ensure all project files are properly archived and manage returning any applicable production assets to client.
    • Clean up and rotoscope in support of the finish process.
    • Create cut downs, social ratios, simple stand-alone edits, simple color correction and address minor client notes as needed.
    • Be responsible for QC’ing all final deliverables.
    • Have a strong passion for storytelling and the craft of offline editing, color correction and other post-production disciplines. That passion translates to a strong work ethic to achieve career growth and professional goals.

    YOU HAVE

    • Minimum of two years related work experience in a post-production environment. Preference for a BA/BS degree in Media, Communication Arts, or related field of study in addition to related work experience. A combination of education and work experience is highly preferred.
    • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and ideally an introduction to Avid & Resolve.
    • Attention to detail with strong proofreading and fact checking abilities.
    • The ability to juggle multiple competing projects in a fast-paced professional environment.
    • The drive to deliver projects on time and within budget that may occasionally require night and weekend work.
    • Adeptness in reading the room, discretion, and judgement of when and how to approach topics as it pertains to the project in client supervised sessions.
    • A portfolio of work showcasing your editorial abilities.
