Editor, Sr. reviews, edits, and re-writes a variety of documents and/or digital content. Responsible for creating and maintaining accurate and compelling content for written copy and/or websites and other online communications media. Being an Editor, Sr. ensures that all content meets required and accepted format and standards. Evaluates content for clarity, accuracy, and consistency. Additionally, Editor, Sr. may coordinate with creative team to produce final drafts. May provide guidance to lower-level staff. Requires a bachelor's degree in journalism or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Editor, Sr. work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Overview
The Sr. Associate Editor will write and develop coverage of insurance regulation, broader regulatory bodies and other insurance financial news topics for Best's News Service, including articles for the wire and Best's Review as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Writes and develops coverage expertise on a daily basis.
- Writes articles and related materials as required.
- Meets regularly with other editors.
- Participates in event coverage, including conferences, announcements and industry activities.
- Develop sources in the insurance industry, including the broader insurance regulatory community.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience as a journalist who is able to report and write accurate coverage in a timely manner.
- Insurance experience is a plus but familiarity with financial is an absolute requirement.
- Should be facile with modern interviewing techniques, including use of technology to record and distribute the information in a range of formats.

• Must be a knowledgeable writer and reporter. • Should be familiar with publication style, grammar and business usage. • Should be conversant with financial topics and able to learn and apply insurance-specific concepts and terms. • Must be able to work in a team setting and must be genuinely interested in the world of insurance, risk management and finance. • Must be able to develop sustainable news relationships. • Should be able turn around coverage quickly for a daily and real-time news environment. • Must handle both short- and long-term assignments. • Must be interested in enhancing financial reporting skills through additional training and learning. - 1 Month Ago

Somerset is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) located within Franklin Township, in Somerset County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the CDP's population was 22,083.
