Editorial Assistant - Web jobs in Cuyahoga Falls, OH

emBold is on the hunt for a new web developer. We have a large variety of clients including ecommerce, manufacturing, entertainment, government, restaurants, law firms, beach properties, doctors, startups, you get the idea. You'd be working with interesting and complex custom web applications, in addition to marketing/ecommerce-based websites. This position may also end up working on our own SaaS product startup. This is a full-time position open to early and mid-level experience, we're focusing primarily on making sure the person is an ideal fit for our small team of 6. We're currently all local to northeast Ohio but have a hybrid working schedule of at least one in-office day a week. We're possibly open to the idea of a fully remote hire but would prefer someone local.

We're looking for at least a couple of years of working experience in:

• Modern and responsive web dev tech. Javascript, PHP, HTML, and CSS
• Laravel, or familiarity with another MVC framework
• Databases (Such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc)
• Modern Javascript such as ES6 / Alpine. Svelte (or other component based frameworks) is a definite plus
• GIT version control
• CSS preprocessors like SASS or PostCSS
• CMS platforms, such as Wordpress / Prismic / Hubspot

A personality that matches:

• Reliability and strong work ethic
• Enthusiasm for what you create, capacity to find unique solutions to unique problems, and all the usual canned employer expectation jazz
• A passion for growing your development techniques and team collaboration to evolve project workflow and experience
• Interest in a culture that is very web/app developer focused. We're a bunch of nerds with a lot of nerdy techy hobbies

Some other bonus things we use that is cool to see on a resume:

• Ruby on Rails
  
• App dev experience with something like Swift/Nativescript
• JAM stack experience
• DevOps experience (managing Linux environments and hosting)
• UX/UI Talent, or at least familiarity with design applications (Adobe suite, Sketch, Figma, etc.)
• TailwindCSS
• Development workflow automation (such as Gulp, Laravel Mix, Pulsar, etc.)

emBold is a web design and development agency that has been in business for 11 years. We're a small elite dev/design team with a lot of room for growth. The owner has 18 years of experience in the field and co-created the Summit Collective with other complimentary marketing-related businesses in the northeast Ohio area. We focus on making the job a fun and creative place for web developers and designers. We're currently a team of all developers, so it's an extremely developer-focused culture. The projects we work on often present a unique challenge to keep us engaged and interested.

We're located in a 2,200 square foot office in Akron's Bounce Innovation Hub where we're surrounded by other fresh product and tech development companies.
