Education Director provides supervision and direction of nursing education programs. Develops and implements course content and curriculums to train and update skills and knowledge of in-service nurses. Being a Education Director remains current and knowledgeable regarding federal and state regulations. Provides oversight and day-to-day guidance to staff. Additionally, Education Director typically requires a master's degree in nursing. Requires Registered Nurse (RN) License. Typically reports to senior management. The Education Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Education Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     For the right person, the Development Director position represents an opportunity to join the team and build out an already successful development program, creating lasting relationships and fostering continued growth and enthusiasm for environmental education in New Hampshire’s Lakes Region.

    The Development Director role requires a relationship-oriented and community-minded person who is both driven and strategic. This position works closely with the Executive Director and plays an important part of Prescott Farm’s leadership team. The successful candidate will demonstrate an enthusiasm for and personal commitment to environmental education and/or stewardship and community building and will be comfortable conveying that enthusiasm one-on-one and in larger group settings. Real world fund development experience and an understanding of the principles of fundraising are also important characteristics for success.

    Responsibilities – Key elements of the role include:

    • Coordination with staff, volunteers and board of directors to integrate a culture of development and community building into Prescott Farm’s environmental education mission.
    • Structuring and following-through on systematic relationship stewardship activities
    • Developing and presenting regular mission tours that orient community members, businesses, and philanthropic organizations to Prescott Farm’s programs, facilities and impact
    • Grant writing and management
    • Creative visioning
    • Community outreach
    • Supervision of Prescott Farm’s thriving volunteer program
    • Actively collaborates with the Executive Director and a volunteer Board of Directors to drive relationship stewardship activities with donors, philanthropic organizations, business partners, members, and volunteers

    Skills, Education and Experience – The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, education, and experience:

    • A minimum of 3 years of experience working as part of a development team in the nonprofit sector.
    • Ability to prioritize projects and assignments, maintain a positive attitude, and produce professional results under deadlines.
    • Demonstrated ability to capture and convey with words both anecdotal and data-based evidence related to the impacts of mission-based work
    • Demonstrated track record of success in procuring grant funding
    • Experience working with a donor database or other CRM software; Knowledge of Little Green Light a plus.
    • Proficient in all MS Office Products including Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
    • Basic understanding of financial management and/or grant fund management
    • Experience with planned giving and capital campaigns a plus
    • Bachelor’s degree required
    • Must pass a criminal background check
