Additionally, Education Director typically requires a master's degree in nursing. Requires Registered Nurse (RN) License. Typically reports to senior management. The Education Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.     Responsibilities:
    • Serve as liaison between Residence Life and the University Police Department, Director of Student Life, and other University offices.
    • Administer budget for related areas of responsibility.
    • Advise staff and student residence hall groups on university policies, residence hall rules, program activities, student projects, and related concerns.
    • Serve as liaison to parents and residents in the resolution of disputes and concerns with residence hall policies and procedures.
    • Provide assigned residential area level staff recognition programs; assess the perception and effectiveness of existing recognition programs; evaluate and recommend effective recognition methods and techniques appropriate to both the staff being recognized and which comply with departmental and university policy.
    • Perform other related work as required or assigned.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of academic support and co*curricular programming in the residence halls. In collaboration with the other Associate Director position, each semester: develop, establish, implement, and monitor a department*wide involvement contract for the residence hall staff to foster student involvement and community development in the assigned residential area.
    • In collaboration with Director, create, organize, and implement prior to the start of each semester a comprehensive programmatic plan specific to each residential community to ensure consistent activities and events are planned to facilitate community development and academic support. In collaboration with the Director, facilitate the distribution and implementation of an annual student satisfaction survey.
    • Directly responsible for administration and supervision of all graduate and undergraduate staff in their assigned residential areas; coordinate and oversee supervision of assigned Hall Directors and Resident Assistant staff. Assist Director in the selection and training of in-hall staff. Provide a visible presence in all residential area through monthly building walk thrus to monitor the physical condition and cleanliness of the facilities; regular, consistent attendance at assigned residential area programming events, area government/RHA meetings, and staff meetings; bi*weekly Hall Director staff meetings to disseminate information, discuss monthly goals, and provide assigned staff development programs for resident assistants.
    • In conjunction with the Director, plan, implement, and execute comprehensive monthly staff development meetings to address concerns with all Hall Directors and Resident Assistants as well as training and staff development, building on the foundation of the pre-academic year training.



    Qualifications:
    One-year successful employment in housing or related field requiring extensive skills in program planning and implementation, goal setting, staff supervision and training, and/or management.Bachelors degree; 1 year of service in housing and/or residence life.Masters degree; 3 years of service as a live-in residence life professional in a co-educational facility; historical understanding of residence life and educational programming at a university serving a diverse population of students.

    Salary:
    12 monthCommensurate with experience, qualifications, and universitys resources.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    Bachelors degree; 1 year of service in housing and/or residence life.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Masters degree; 3 years of service as a live-in residence life professional in a co-educational facility; historical understanding of residence life and educational programming at a university serving a diverse population of students.
