ABLE Summer Learning is a K-12 youth and education-focused seasonal AmeriCorps program operated by The Service Collaborative. We are recruiting for a STEM Facilitator position at the Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum. The STEM facilitator role whose primary responsibility is to provide informative, engaging, and fun learning experiences that will inspire youth in History, STEM, and Literacy. The STEM Facilitator will be responsible for working with the education department to design educational summer programs both virtually and on the museum campus in our children's gallery during the summer (Wednesdays-Sundays (flexible)).
The ABLE member will work collaboratively with the Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum Education Department, specifically the Education Coordinator, to implement, design, and evaluate STEM & Reading programs for youth K - 12. The STEM Facilitator will work primarily within the Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum's Children's Gallery and online with the museum's Carrousel Courier Jr. Blog. The STEM Facilitator will report directly to the Outreach Coordinator. Should there be any concern with doing so, the STEM Facilitator will report to Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum Executive Director.
This position is full time Monday-Friday for 9 weeks, to achieve a 300-hour-minimum term of service beginning in mid-late June. Must be available on weekends.
