Program Specialist
Council on Teacher Education
Applications are now being accepted for a Program Specialist with the Council on Teacher Education (CoTE). CoTE oversees licensure programs across eight colleges and schools on the Urbana campus. CoTE is responsible for monitoring the progress of candidates to ensure they meet state requirements and entitling all eligible candidates for licensure; for ensuring that licensure programs meet standards for approval; and for overseeing clinical placements in partner schools. CoTE collects, analyzes, and disseminates assessment data to program faculty and staff, and provides technical assistance in developing improvement plans, program proposals, and reports. CoTE monitors state and/or federal laws and regulations pertaining to licensure and assists program faculty and staff with compliance activities.
Job Summary
Coordinate Council on Teacher Education processes focused on regulatory and accreditation compliance, including work with professional development providers and educator preparation program faculty and staff.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree. A total of (1) year (12 months) of work experience in preK-12 schools or higher education program administration. Demonstrated experience working within a teacher education program or with teacher candidates. A Master’s degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Three years of experience. Advanced degree. Experience with multiple roles involved in educator preparation. Educational background or work experience that provides a general understanding of educator preparation, education policy, or a related field. Educational background or work experience that provides a general understanding of professional development for educators.

Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5002 - Program Coordinator position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 4/3/2023. Salary is commensurate with experience.
