Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (required), in Program Planning, Logistics or Business (preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and the Google Suite of Products
- 5 years of previous experience in logistics planning, management or coordination (preferred)
- Working knowledge of fleet management computer systems, closed channel digital communication, and Global GPS software applications
- Great interpersonal skills as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Experience with Special Education Transportation and knowledge of the laws and guidelines regarding Special Education Transportation
- Well-developed motivational, team-building, and leadership skills
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
- Alabama commercial driver’s license A or B, and Alabama school bus driver’s certification required or must be obtained within the first six months of employment and an insurable driving record.

Background Check Required: (Ala. Code §§ 16-22A-5) Upon offer of employment, employees will be required to submit legible fingerprints for a background review by the Alabama Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Background checks must not be more than ten (10) years old.
Essential Functions:
- Establish and maintain maximum and minimum consumables inventory levels
- Coordinate with in-house team to promote accurate and timely processing of transportation requests for all trips supported by MCS Transportation
- Provide assistance for maintaining logistics planning
- Maintain the GPS Database as well as collaborate with service providers to procure all consumables for MCS Transportation GPS. Create and maintain all instructions for GPS usage.
- Provide on-site support for major field trips by strategically organizing bus lineups and communicating updates to both schools and drivers, all while prioritizing student safety amid increased activity levels
- Assign drivers to field trips in an equitable and balanced manner, taking into account various logistical factors.
- Approve timesheets associated with deliveries and pick-ups.
- Administer and maintain MCS radio communication and program systems.
- Support with the maintenance of logistics policies, procedures, support plans, and similar data.
- Manage and monitor the performance of the entire fleet, routing, and scheduling planning
- Cataloging and handling all MCS white fleet vehicles: reservations, mileage, GPS, and inspecting vehicles when they go out and return.
- Checkout checklists, ensuring MVRs are completed on all white fleet drivers. Maintaining fuel logs and cataloging. Maintains applicable electronic databases, files, and programs for the Department of Transportation.
- Assisting with the annual State of Alabama Transportation Report
Expected Employment: 240 days/ 8 hrs. (full year)
Evaluation: According to established Board policies and administrative procedures and guidelines.
Salary Range: (Salary based on employment for complete year) Should be same scale as routing specialist
