Instructors are responsible for the delivery of educational materials by utilizing sound educational practices focused on the successful academic development of each student. Instructors utilize the educational experience as a vehicle for the development of knowledge and skills in the student’s chosen field to help students achieve their educational and career goals. Instructors promote an educational environment that is engaging, dynamic, and student-centered additionally providing support, tutoring, and other assistance as needed. Education
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field with industry certifications such as, but not limited to, Cisco (CCNA, CCAI, and/or CCSI), C3, Network , Security , AWS (Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect Associate, etc.), Microsoft (Azure Administrator, Azure Fundamentals, etc.), CompTIA (A , Network , Security ), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Cisco.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects; Ability to work independently; Ability to analyze problems, identify solutions, and take appropriate action to resolve problems while following college policies and procedures; Ability to communicate effectively, verbally, and in writing; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, faculty, students, and the public.
Five or more years of in-field experience.
PREFERRED:
▪ Previous experience teaching in a proprietary education setting
▪ Knowledge of federal, state, and accreditation regulations applicable to the proprietary education industry
▪ Utilize classroom and lab instruction, student assessment mechanisms, and classroom management techniques to provide an engaged educational experience to students
▪ Guarantee that the student has been presented with the material to successfully meet the learning objectives of each course within a student’s program of study
▪ Ensure that instructional materials and equipment are ready for student use, sufficient in quantity, are properly maintained, and are in working order
▪ Participate in ongoing faculty assessment and professional development activities to ensure an active, engaged, and up-to-date classroom experience for all students; maintain required certification and licensure
▪ Actively participate in meetings, review and analyze assessment data, compile reports, and meet academic and administrative deadlines
Available to teach days and/or evenings.
▪ Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and regulatory bodies’ guidelines, along with internal policies of the company
▪ Other duties as assigned
▪ Where required, must have an active certification or licensure;
▪ Non-degree and Occupational Associate Degrees technical/occupational courses: a minimum of three (3) years practical work experience in the field of instruction;
▪ Bachelor's Degree technical/occupational courses: minimum four (4) years practical work experience in the field of instruction and possess a related degree at least at the same level as the course being taught.
▪Exceptional cases: eight (8) years of practical work experience may be substituted for practical work experience and justified by the campus;
▪General Education courses: master’s degree with appropriate academic coursework and preparation in the subject area(s) taught – 18 semester hours of coursework at any credential level in the subject;
▪ Before beginning to teach, instructors either need to have documented prior teaching experience or complete the new instructor training.
▪ Demonstration of the highest levels of integrity and professionalism in all aspects, including appearance, demeanor, and attitude
▪ Solid computer software skills including Microsoft Office Instructors must meet minimum qualifications for teaching:
▪ Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated success in collaborating with diverse groups of employees and customers
▪ Ability to work in an observation/coaching style environment
▪ Capability to prioritize, accept responsibility, and work within deadlines
▪ Superior organizational and problem-resolution skills
