BASIC FUNCTION
The Paraoptometric Technician assists the Optometrist by conducting diagnostic and preliminary tests, recording exam findings, testing eye function, preparing examination rooms, cleaning and arranging equipment, and instructing patients in inserting and caring for contact lenses.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience in an optical or medical office support position desired, but not necessary. Prefer experience with Eyefinity software and Microsoft Office Suite software programs.
Specific skills preferred include:
· Knowledge of business office procedures.
· Ability to operate a computer and basic office equipment.
· Completion of a basic paraoptometric course, equivalent paraoptometric training, or paraoptometric certification.
