If you're ready to embark on an exciting adventure, join us at DC Construction Services today! Job Description : As the Asphalt Superintendent at DC Construction Services, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of daily asphalt operations.

From creating schedules and coordinating crews to handling pre-construction tasks and ensuring safety compliance, you will play a crucial role in the smooth and efficient delivery of asphalt services, to include milling AND paving.

Responsibilities : -Manage and oversee daily asphalt operations, including creating daily schedules, conducting morning meetings with crews to distribute schedules, meeting crews on job sites, and coordinating with project managers for upcoming projects.

• Schedule and coordinate 2-3 asphalt crews, 1-2 mill crews, and all necessary equipment and trucking to ensure efficient completion of jobs.
• Handle pre-construction tasks such as obtaining locates, permits, and scheduling traffic control measures.-Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with customers and inspectors.
• Quickly resolve issues as they arise, adjusting schedules throughout the day to keep crews working efficiently in this dynamic "on-call" asphalt service environment.
• Conduct weekly safety meetings with crews to ensure adherence to safety protocols.-Complete all required paperwork for each job, including billing sheets, daily reports, safety documentation, etc.

Qualifications : -High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required, along with 10 years of relevant experience in asphalt and paving, or a combination of education and training.

• Proficiency in reading and understanding instructions, correspondence, and memos.-Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to perform basic arithmetic and interpret numerical data.
• Familiarity with database software and ability to type accurately.-Competence in safely and efficiently operating equipment.
• Experience in maintaining accurate time and material records.-Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills, with the ability to lead and motivate teams effectively.
