Key Responsibilities:
• Responsible for assisting with the operation of the mine and production related facilities in accordance with Florence Copper’s strategic and financial objectives.
• Supervise, direct, coach, train, and mentor the operations teams, including direct and indirect reports.
• Monitor, engage, and provide leadership supporting the site’s health and safety programs.
• Manage all site activities ensuring they comply with relevant government regulations and permits. • Manage, monitor, and ensure all site activities strictly follow the company’s environmental policies.
• Assist with preparing material and manpower budgets. Monitor and control departmental expenditures to ensure that cost targets are achieved.
• Assist with providing timely reports on operational KPIs and the progress towards meeting and exceeding them.
• Proactively identify, manage, and work to resolve potential problems, work conflicts, and/or schedule challenges.
• Support operational activities as necessary with a focus on accelerating rinsing operations.
• Establish a positive working relationship with other departments.
Education and Work Experience:
• 10 years mining related experience. Insitu mining experience preferred.
• Experience managing wellfield operations.
• Supervisory operations and maintenance experience, preferably in a senior role.
Skills and Competencies:
• Proficiency with basic Microsoft Office suite programs.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong team building and leadership skills combined with superior analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Work Environment:
• This position will include some office work, but some work will be performed in all-weather conditions both outdoors, and in a plant setting.
• While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must work in compliance with the Florence Copper (OSHA) site safety program.
• Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in the plant environment.
