The Instrument/Electrical Technician will provide support for electrical and instrumentation maintenance, PLCs, troubleshooting of ladder logic programming, SCADA and motion control equipment. The Instrument/Electrical Technician will work primarily day shift, but must be able to work night shift as needed. Also, respond to call-ins and work after normal working hours as needed.

    HOW YOU WILL IMPACT Ingevity

    * Troubleshoot instrument and electrical problems and perform root cause analysis in partnership with operations and engineering to solve problems and make improvements.

    * Test and calibrate digital and analog controls, and plant instruments such as flow, pressure, temperature, mass, pH, level, density and motion controls.

    * Knowledge of machine controls, sensors, I/O, and drives.

    * Advanced knowledge with PLC's, ladder logic, structured text, PID Loops, or similar.

    * Ensure operation of machinery and electrical systems by completing preventive maintenance requirements.

    * Ability to follow diagrams, operations manuals, manufacturers instruction and engineering specifications.

    * Analyze maintenance procedures and work with maintenance trainer to help develop and implement training, new work instructions and practices.

    * Document work performed on the facility to build equipment history. Reviews equipment repair history for PM/PD creation or changes to current practices.

    * Follow all organizational policies, procedures and rules, ensuring all laws are obeyed, safety and environmental protection are practiced.

    * Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.

    * Attend and participates in required training; trains others in areas of proficiency or expertise.

    * Self-starter attitude with a willingness to proactively identify and correct potential machine issues.

    * Additional job duties as required.

    WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

    * Education: High School diploma/GED required,

    * Prerequisite of 5 years of instrument/electrical maintenance related experience is required.

    * Able to lift 50 pounds

    * Ability to travel up to 10 days per year

    * Able to operate mobile equipment

    * Ability to work independently and within a team
