Electrical Controls Engineer designs, develops, and supervises all aspects of electrical control systems, equipment, and machinery. May be responsible for the installation and technical support of PLC based hardware and software. Being an Electrical Controls Engineer requires a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Electrical Controls Engineer relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Job Requirements:
Design, test, and commission controls, software, and data acquisition systems for automation equipment and mechanical machinery.- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field strongly preferred
- AAS in Automation Technology, Robotics, Systems Engineering may be considered
- Minimum 1 year of controls design and engineering related experience
- Must be a US Citizen
- Proficiency in designing control panels, cabling, and conduit runs
- Experience defining hardware specifications
- PLC programming (e.g., Studio 5000 Logix Designer, Allen-Bradley, Siemens)
- HMI programming (e.g., FactoryTalk, Wonderware, Cimplicity)
- Experience with Drives (Servo, VFD, Stepper)
- Proficiency in Schematics and CAD (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, Eplan, Solidworks, Creo, Zuken E3)
- Experience developing BOMs and understanding of routing in client ERP system
- Robot simulation and offline programming (e.g., Process Simulate, Roboguide, Delmia)
- Experience with robotic applications, vision systems, welding, and fluid power system components
- Experience in controls design for new systems (not primarily upgrades/maintenance)
- Meet with customers to gather requirements
- Develop project plans, work breakdowns, and cost/schedule estimates
- Design and test control systems for automation equipment and mechanical machinery
- Commission machines and systems, including travel within the continental United States (estimated 1 week per month)
- Serve as the face of the company, selling proposals to a wide range of clients
- Work from Engineering Design Center in Dubuque or Davenport, IA
Pay Details: $54.00 to $72.00 PER HOUR
