Our client is located in Paducah, KY and offers a wide variety of solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial needs.     POSITION SUMMARY
    The Electrical & Controls Manager will lead, motivate, and monitor the activities of direct reports to ensure they have the tools and resources to perform their job to the best of their ability. The incumbent will be a working manager who performs electrician job duties, and engages in project estimating, scheduling, and quality control measures to ensure the highest level of safety and customer satisfaction is achieved.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Read plans, assist with project estimation, and attend pre-bid meetings.
    • Oversee all aspects of assigned projects, industrial and commercial, from commencement to completion.
    • Conduct pre-planning and goal setting meetings with crews.
    • Effectively manage more than one project as assigned, exceeding the expectations of our customers, and ensuring our work adheres to all company safety policies and OSHA-mandated requirements.
    • Manage all financial aspects of projects through ongoing job forecasting.
    • Work closely with the electrical field crews and supervise electricians.
    • Collaborate with pre-fabrication and design department/personnel.
    • Coordinate manpower, heavy equipment, tooling, and material needs for crews.
    • Set clear goals and expectations, communicating with appropriate parties.
    • Estimate projects and change orders when necessary.
    • Perform/Provide electrician duties as needed to facilitate project completion.
    • Occasionally enter and work in confined spaces.
    • Negotiate and resolve all customer concerns.
    • Assist with controlling job costs and production budgets.
    • Manage submittal process and all job closeout procedures.
    • Conduct post-project reviews to determine areas of future improvement.
    • Provide coaching/counseling to direct reports as appropriate.
    • Develop/maintain network of professional relationships within our industry.
    • Investigate all incidents that occur under your supervision or within your department, completing appropriate reports and/or documentation.
    • Ensure the proper maintenance of equipment, coordinating repairs and inspections as necessary.
    • Provide new employee orientations to inform, train, and promote a safe working environment.
    • Participate in any necessary training or certification programs to keep up with changes in technology or industry best practices.
    • Demonstrate a high level of integrity and professionalism at all times.
    • Perform other related duties as required or requested by Senior Management.

    SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Oversee and manage electrical crew members, including monitoring time and attendance, scheduling workloads, and determining the appropriate amount of overtime based on the needs of the company.
    • Collaborate with upper management to participate in interviewing and hiring team members.
    • Lead and train employees.
    • Plan, assign, and direct work.
    • Evaluate performance of team members, providing coaching sessions and implementing disciplinary actions as appropriate.

    MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
    • 10 years of electrical field experience with 5 years of electrical crew supervision.
    • Prior project management experience.
    • Extensive knowledge of NEC and electrical construction processes.
    • Must be willing and able to travel.
    • Capable of reading and understanding construction blueprints, schematics, and specs, and participate in bid proposals.
    • Hands-on experience with TIG, MIG and stick welding processes.
    • Experience with and use of hand tools and power tools.
    • Excellent organizational skills with careful attention to detail and timely follow-through.
    • Superior oral communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Able to work in a team environment.
    • Must be self-directed and capable of handling multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
    • Able to work effectively in stressful, time-sensitive environments.
    • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
    • High standard of integrity and professionalism.
    • Extremely detailed and accurate.
    • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the projects including lifting, climbing and other somewhat challenging physical requirements.
    • Capable of performing the job safely and successfully in a variety of physically challenging working conditions.
    • Able to see color to discern color-coded wiring.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND OTHER MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS
    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred, or equivalent job experience progressing through the ranks from a Journeyman to a Superintendent or Electrical Manager.
    • Must have a current Kentucky Electrical License (EE or ME).
    • Completion of OSHA Competent Person training desired.
    • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
    • Available to work on Saturdays and/or Sundays if project deadlines require weekend work.
    • Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and a thorough criminal background check.
