Progressive Design, Inc. is currently seeking an entrepreneurial spirited Electrical Controls Engineer.
This is a full time/direct hire position located in Midlothian, Virginia (Richmond, VA area).
Key Requirements & Requirements:
•ABET accredited Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, preferred.
•Specialization in the architecture, engineering/design, implementation, and configuration of network infrastructure (LAN, WLAN, WAN) for industrial facilities.
Job Responsibilities:
•Support the architecture, engineering/design, implementation, and configuration of network infrastructure (LAN, WLAN, WAN) for industrial facilities.
•Support conceptualization of manufacturing projects by providing technical guidance/direction on network and computing requirements
•Deliver physically and logically isolated OT networks within manufacturing facilities to securely enable new technologies/opportunities in alignment with PERA (ISA-95, CPwE, etc.)
•Perform technical studies and calculations
•Designing Main Distribution Frames (MDF), Intermediate Distribution Frames (IDF), general purpose Network/Data Rooms, and fiber-optic cable routing per BICSI (002, 568, 607, etc.) and NFPA (70, 75, 76, etc.) for the optimization of Clients’ telecommunications and networking needs on both large and small-scale facilities
•Wireless surveying of the IEEE 802.11 (a/b/g/n/ac) standard with Ekahau
•Responsible for deploying an Enterprise network, wireless access points (WAP), security cameras, cellular, and access control systems.
•Develop Fiber-Optic Lightguide Interconnection Diagrams and WAP Location Plans.
Preferred Job Requirements:
•Minimum of 3 years of Heavy industrial experience
•Electrical Classification (NFPA 70/Article 500) understanding and application experience
•Reading and updating P&IDs
•Experience evaluating controls and instrumentation integrations
•PLC and/or DCS Hardware Conversion experience (experience with multiple platforms is preferred)
•System integration experience: Controls and Signals – additions and new equipment tie-ins
•Instrumentation - basic understanding of process measurements, signaling, and developing specification and selections based upon process conditions and needs
•Working knowledge of NEC, BOCA and other codes related to design
•Current working knowledge of AutoCAD
