Electrical CAD Engineer

Workplace Model: Hybrid
- HYBRID. 3-4 days onsite per week
Required Travel: <10% Domestically
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to develop electrical schematics, PCB layouts and supporting documentation in accordance with customer and internal requirements.
- Create and maintain ECAD library (schematic symbols, PCB footprints, and 3D components) using IPC and component supplier standards.
- Lead PCB assembly DFM/DFA activities in collaboration with Electrical, Mechanical, and Manufacturing engineering.
- Support development of PCB Layout standards, best practices, and guidelines in accordance with industry standards and internal requirements.
- Design and development of PCB layout while adhering to electrical, mechanical, EMC manufacturing, and cost requirements.
- Support PCB layout design reviews for Electrical, EMC, and Manufacturing.
- Release drawing package (schematic, PCB, and circuit board assembly) in Product Life Management tool per internal guidelines.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Associate degree in electronics or equivalent work experience.
- Expertise in Mentor Graphics PADS Designer ECAD tools or other printed circuit board CAD tools.
- Knowledge in PCB design and development for automotive electronics based on IPC standards.
- Knowledge of basic analog circuits: linear regulators, op-amp circuits, transistor circuits, etc.
- Comprehensive knowledge of PCB layout techniques for microprocessors and power electronics.
- Knowledge of automated PCB assembly and test methods and their impact on PCB design.
- Knowledge of ECAD layout techniques for optimized electrical and EMC performance.
- Knowledge of PCB design practices and PCB materials and their impact on product reliability and costs.
- Experience with layout constraints for BGA and QFN device packages.
- Effective interpersonal, presentation, written, and oral communication skills.
- Personal interest and passion for electronics.
