Electrical Designer jobs in Paramus, NJ

• Permanent position for an Electrical Designer / Drafter to produce electrical designs and related support services for small to large governmental, municipal and industrial facilities with limited supervision.
• Responsible to develop CAD drawings, edit specifications and process construction shop drawings for CCTV, phone, data system and lighting design, etc.
• Draft construction details for submittal to the construction detail library.
• Draft approved revisions within established timeframes in accordance with established procedures, and communicate all changes to all affected end users, i.e. architects, engineers, designers etc.
• Assemble documentation packages and produce drawing sets which are then checked by a senior engineer or an architect.
• Review completed construction drawings for accuracy and conformity to standards and regulations.
• Maintain accurate digital drawing file storage.
• Assist with the preparation of all necessary construction documents in accordance with the established procedures.
• Conduct field surveys and other data to document existing field conditions.
• Track drawing revisions and maintain archived drawings.
• Design to National Electrical Code, industry standards and design criteria related to electrical systems.

• AAS Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology, or related experience.
• Familiar with lighting, power, low voltage, communications and fire alarm design.
• Perform electrical calculations, load, voltage drop, etc.
• Size transformers, panel boards, distribution boards and switchboards or switchgears.
• Determine wiring and conduit sizes of feeders and branch wiring.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Proficient in MS office.
• Have a good knowledge of NEC and NFPA.
