Electrical Engineer
At Frasca International, a FlightSafety company, we design and build innovative flight simulators, providing pilots with safe helicopter and airplane training experience.
Frasca is hiring for a full-time Electrical Engineer to design and support a wide variety of systems such as control loading, embedded I/O controllers, printed circuit board design and other electrical interfaces.
Primary responsibilities include:
* Designing the layout, testing and implementing printed circuit board solutions
* Programming and interfacing microcontrollers
* Creating electronic circuit solutions for instrumentation interfaces
* Troubleshooting existing PCA designs
* Sourcing new and replacement electrical components (board level)
Secondary responsibilities include:
* Designing electrical system schematics, wiring diagrams, and harness assemblies
* Designing power distribution system and electronics cabinets
* Creating documentation for assembly of simulator components
The ideal candidate will have an equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, plus the following skills/experience:
* Digital and analog circuit design
* Microcontroller programming and interfaces (Microchip)
* Schematic design and PCB layout
* Software skills (C/C , assembly)
* CAD programs (Altium, SolidWorks, Zuken E3, or equivalent programs)
* 3 years' experience in Electrical Engineering
The following skills are desired but not required:
* Electric motor and controller integration (BLDC)
* Cable harness design
* Familiarity with aircraft avionics
This position is required to work on-site at Frasca's Urbana, Illinois facility.
