Electrical Engineer jobs in Garland, TX

Are you looking to take your career to the next level? Cummings Electrical, a leading electrical contractor in the DFW area, is growing! We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Integrated Manufacturing department. This is an onsite position located just south of the DFW Airport.

Responsibilities:

• Detailed load estimating utilizing computer software simulation. Includes knowledge of building construction materials, knowledge of meeting outdoor air requirements for indoor air quality, and a general understanding of internal heat loads (ie electrical equipment, lights, other equipment, building skin etc.)
• Application and selection of various types of HVAC equipment including air handling units, fans, coils, condensing units etc.
• Design knowledge of hydronic systems and steam/condensate systems including chillers, boilers, cooling towers, pumps, and associated system accessories.
• General knowledge of HVAC system controls. Includes development of general HVAC temperature control diagrams and written sequences of operation.
• Development of construction document packages based on the project requirements and application. This shall include project coordination with other disciplines (structural, architectural, electrical) and checking project construction documents.
• Reading and abiding by job-specific equipment and materials specifications, as well as national and local codes.
• Attending and communicating during client meetings to clearly understand job/owner requirements and expectations. Includes, project review meetings, construction meetings, and project closeout meetings.
• Project shop drawing and installation drawing review.
• Potential on-site inspections and troubleshooting.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor s degree in mechanical engineering or previous experience in HVAC design.
• Ability to perform CFD modeling a plus.
• General knowledge of plumbing design, such as knowledge of plumbing code, vent piping design, storm sewer piping design, and domestic hot and cold water piping design, a plus.
