JOB SUMMARY

As an Electrical Engineer, you will provide electrical engineering skills to transform marketing requirement specifications into commercialized products that meet the quality, reliability, manufacturability, and cost objectives of each program and project. As a member of the engineering group, (s)he will be responsible for developing, designing, qualifying, and releasing new products for our current and next-generation product lines.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Contribute to the design of Waterjet pumps and component solutions that fit within the overall product option architecture. Initiate engineering changes and new product releases, that impact the product line.

• Develop, design, and test machine (PLC) logic and define machine parameters
• Document the sequence of operations for machines
• Implement Engineering Changes
• Develop and maintain a Bill of Materials
• Perform design validation using digital and physical prototyping, software simulation analysis
• Characterize and verify product performance to meet engineering specifications
• Provide product design and generate supporting documentation, including schematics, assembly drawings, control program files, BOMs, engineering reports, validation test plans, and test reports
• Performs any necessary technical calculations to ensure a functional and sound product.
• Participate in Failure Analysis and Corrective Action teams for new products
• Work closely with manufacturing engineering to identify, design, and provide support for the implementation of facilities, equipment, and fixtures required to perform Standard Test Procedures
• Determine equipment requirements relative to applicable codes and standards. This will include domestic as well as worldwide regulations.
• Must be customer-focused, self-motivated, and able to handle multiple tasks
• Assist in preparing testing specifications and operation and service manuals.
• Support Technical Service in the field during installation and in-house.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have a strong grasp of engineering fundamentals
• Knowledge of National Electric Code (including NFPA 79) and CE electrical and/or product design requirements.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Solidworks Electrical, preferred
• Experience using PDM systems preferred
• Ability to develop new products from concept through production
• Demonstrated ability to be part of a small team with aggressive goals
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment as part of a multi-disciplinary team
• Good organizational, communication, and prioritization skills
• HTML 5 and IoT experience is a plus
• Experience with IEC 61131-3 based PLC programming software
• High level of analytical ability where problems are complex

Education Requirement

• BSEE, BSET, or BSME Required or equivalent education with 2-5 years experience
