Electrical Engineering Manager manages electrical engineering projects and operations within an organization. Implements and maintains policies and procedures for designing, testing, installing, and maintaining electronic equipment or devices. Being an Electrical Engineering Manager reviews and approves new or revised designs, testing or installation procedures. Ensures engineering projects are appropriately staffed and milestones are achieved. Additionally, Electrical Engineering Manager provides professional development opportunities and expert guidance to engineers. Draws on significant experience and knowledge to contribute to projects. Requires a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. Typically reports to a director. The Electrical Engineering Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be an Electrical Engineering Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. - Facility communications system(s)
- Facility whole building energy modeling
- Facility sustainability requirements reporting
In addition, this role will include coordination with other support disciplines, and coordination with regional offices. Assisting project managers in management of projects. Following quality assurance and quality control plans.Travel to project locations will be required.Abilities and attributes needed for this position:- Basic knowledge of building components and systems
- Knowledge of electrical engineering and sustainability principles
- Utilizing Building Information (BIM) design software to produce construction drawings
- Ability to perform building electrical system related calculations
- Utilize Microsoft Excel based calculation tools for design calculations
- Manage multiple assignments concurrently
- Be responsible for time management and product quality
- Keep accurate and up-to-date project accounting on all assigned projects
- Follow Quality Assurance and Quality Control Plans
- Be responsible for continuing education and learning based on project needs, as well as overall needs of the team
Requirements- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or architectural engineering with an electrical focus from an ABET accredited university of college.
- Must have a basic knowledge base of electrical engineering principals
- Must have strong communication skills
- Must be proficient with MS Office Suite
Preferred Skills- Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam
- 0 years of building design and construction industry experience
- Experience with Autodesk Revit
