Electrical Engineering Manager manages electrical engineering projects and operations within an organization. The Electrical Engineering Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be an Electrical Engineering Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Location: Brighton, MI 48116 HYBRID: 3-4 Days onsite
    Required Travel: 10% Domestic
     
    Key Responsibilities:
    • Evolve and manage Electrical Systems development process and functional expertise including:
      • Design of embedded control systems for brake, suspension, and chassis products
      • Ensure appropriate flow down of requirements to the Electronic Control Unit (ECU)
      • Develop architecture design for ECU electronics and basic software
      • Generate ECU requirements for hardware and basic software
      • Support ECU and subsystem validation testing
      • Support ECU design compliance assessment to OEM application-specific requirements
      • Support functional safety work products associated with ISO 26262
      • Maintain awareness and competence related to global standards and expectations
      • Balancing the needs of our customer base and the needs of the business
      • Align resources to support product development per the needs of the business
    • Work collaboratively across Brakes and Suspension to align Electrical Systems initiatives (Brighton/China/Paris/Dayton)
    • Work collaboratively across staff engineering disciplines to align systems development initiatives and activities
     
    Required Skills & Qualifications:
    • Bachelor and/or Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
    • 7 years of experience in embedded system design and development
    • Understanding of system design considerations involved in developing embedded systems including Electronics and Software
    • Experience with Electrical System and ECU System design
    • Experience with AUTOSAR compliant software architectures
    • Experience with non-AUTOSAR software architectures
    • Good and/or demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills including:
      • Ability to lead, develop, grow and manage people
      • Ability to work within a diverse global team
      • Ability to develop, articulate, adjust and productively defend opinions and direction
     
    Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
    • Exposure and/or experience with ASPICE
    • Exposure and/or experience with ISO26262
    • Exposure and/or experience with Automotive Cyber Security standards
    • Exposure and/or experience with System Engineering principles
