Implements and maintains policies and procedures for designing, testing, installing, and maintaining electronic equipment or devices. Being an Electrical Engineering Manager reviews and approves new or revised designs, testing or installation procedures. Ensures engineering projects are appropriately staffed and milestones are achieved. Additionally, Electrical Engineering Manager provides professional development opportunities and expert guidance to engineers. Draws on significant experience and knowledge to contribute to projects. Requires a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. Typically reports to a director. The Electrical Engineering Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be an Electrical Engineering Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Description/Job Summary

    RMF Engineering, Inc. a National Engineering firm is currently seeking a 10 - 25 year experienced Senior Project Manager/Electrical Engineer to complete electrical designs for complex buildings focused projects in new and existing facilities in our Charleston, SC office. 

    Position Description

    The project manager's primary role is to:

    • Manage all aspects of complex design projects involving mechanical and electrical systems.
    • Develop project proposals, project plans, manpower plans, budgets, schedules, negotiate fees, change orders, contracts, and overall QA/QC management. 
    • Provide project managerial guidance and technical directions to team members including electrical engineers/designers. 
    • Develop and maintain strong client relationships. 
    • Act as a liaison between the client, other design professionals, and the RMF design team. 
    • Develop and maintain correspondence between the RMF design team, the client, and other design professionals.
    • Ensure timely and complete information flow to the appropriate individuals and teams.
    • Perform advanced engineering calculation, code and design expertise and analysis on complex projects when required within their technical area of expertise. 

    The project manager is ultimately responsible for the project and should stamp and sign the drawings as the engineer of record.


    Required Qualifications:

    • BS Electrical Engineering Degree from an accredited college or university
    • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
    • 10 - 25 years Electrical Building Systems design experience
    • Project/employee management
    • Strong technical design and engineering ability
    • Strong work ethic and solid organizational skills

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Revit and AutoCAD experience
