    About your role:

    This is a hands-on, full-time position with day-to-day duties that include managing a team of two (2) to ten (10) process engineers. In addition to the technical skills required at the Engineer 3 & 4 levels, they are responsible for their direct reports in all aspects. In addition to their responsibilities with their direct reports, a process engineering supervisor is responsible for coordinating with other supervisors and directors to resource projects, contribute to business development and proposals, assist with recruiting and interviewing, and create/revise/improve department standards.

    Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities

    • Team Management
      • Effectively analyzes resource needs, organizes, and allocates resources, as well as coordinates with Project Managers for resources and deliverable dates and assesses resources with Project Managers to ensure allocation can fulfill the technical requirements.
      • Periodically reviews project budgets and schedules, as well as facilitates periodic team meetings and participates in department meetings.
      • Understands effective resourcing and department budgeting tools and how to leverage them for workforce planning, as well as participates in the full scope of candidate selection, interview, onboarding assessments and reviewing performance metrics for the team.
      • Promptly addresses and documents employee relations issues including disciplinary action, personnel or performance issues and resolves conflict by engaging Director, Human Resources, and IT.
    • Individual Management
      • Fosters creativity and innovation while motivating employees to excel.
      • Performs timely employee reviews and development plans for employees, as well as conducts individual 1on1s with direct reports.
      • Identifies and sponsors training for employees, in addition to coaching and training employees and delegating responsibility to develop staff.
    • Department Management and Organization
      • Awareness of allocation and utilization metrics and targets from Ajera and administering department overhead billing codes for training, standards, and staff meetings.
      • Reviews and approves timesheets, in addition to tracks and approves PTO requests.
    • Business Development and Client Relationships.
      • Participates in proposal efforts by developing budgets, identifying scope and resources, reviewing schedules, providing feedback on, or generating short/long form proposal documents.
      • Facilitate handoff to assigned resources at project kickoff as needed.
      • Review business development forecast with Director regularly.
      • Foster and maintain relationships with existing clients.
    • Produces and checks process engineering deliverables, as defined by the RACI model (Responsible, Accountable, Consultative, and Informed), in alignment with engineering standard processes and procedures.
      • Process Simulation.
      • Block Flow Diagram.
      • Process Flow Diagram.
      • Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs.)
      • Process Safety Valve (PSV) Calculations/Sizing.
      • Operating Procedures.
      • Flare Study.
      • Vendor data technical evaluations.
    • Collaborates with project team members on inter-disciplinary technical deliverables, as defined by the RACI.
      • Design Basis.
      • Line List.
      • Equipment Sizing, Datasheets, and Specifications.
      • Cause & Effect.
      • Controls Narrative.
      • Process conditions for instrument & Control Valve (CV) datasheets.
      • Assist with other duties as assigned

    Work Hours:

    Company Hours

    This position works 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Hours vary and are dependent on business needs.

    40 Hour Work Week

    Monday through Friday, Hours may vary with the workload.

    Evenings/Weekends/OT

    As needed to satisfy the requirements of the position.

    Qualifications


    Education

    • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or Petroleum Engineering or equivalent experience required.
    • Professional Engineering license or 12-years of relevant experience in lieu of a license required.

    Type of Experience Needed to be Successful

    • Minimum of 10-years’ experience practicing discipline specific engineering on multidiscipline project teams required.

    • Advanced communication (written, verbal and presentation) skills, to deliver complex information effectively and align people with the needs of the project/team.
    • Advanced problem-solving skills, to be able to manage complex situations with multiple layers and resolve to solution anticipating needs now and into the future.

    • Expert user of technology and software required to execute daily tasks.
    • Proficient with HYSYS, Unisim, ProMax, and/or VMG Symmetry. Proficient with Excel.
    • Must have a valid, active driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record.

    Supervisory Expectations:

    • The position supervises or manages the work of at least two full-time employees or the equivalent. The position includes decisions or recommendations regarding personnel actions such as hiring, disciplinary action, overtime, changes in pay and terminations.
