    Position Overview:

    Nalas Engineering is currently seeking a self-motivated and tech-savvy IT Data Technician. The successful candidate will be working with a team as the primary point of contact for employees seeking help desk support and will focus on providing Tier I/II tech support of a Windows based network as well as stellar customer service. As an IT Data Technician, you are responsible for responding to email, chat, or phone queries and offering technical support to customers using computer systems, hardware, and software. To be successful, the candidate should be well-versed in all aspects of computer systems configuration, set up, and maintenance. Candidate will be working with management on the creating and maintaining documentation surrounding the IT data systems in use. Any experience with Data Security and Cybersecurity would be beneficial. Candidate should also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Willingness to work off hours when needed is a must.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Responding to queries on the phone, via email, in person, or through other communication platforms.
    • Frontline Help Desk support for all on-site and remote users, fielding tickets via service desk platform and remote access tools.
    • Maintain IT equipment and software inventory.
    • Address employee’s questions surrounding Windows OS, Microsoft 365 and mobile devices.
    • Familiarity with Sharepoint On-Premise and Exchange Email platform.
    • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, Video Conferencing equipment, and mobile/WiFi issues
    • Help troubleshoot and manage relatively simple hardware, software or network problems and being able to recognize and escalate more difficult problems to Management.
    • Offering technical assistance on the delivery, configuration, set up, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computer systems, hardware, and software life cycle.
    • Training users on troubleshooting and diagnosing problems as well as teaching users how to better use Desktop and Office products.
    • Gaining feedback from customers to improve training methods.
    • Providing insight and recommendations on improving IT related systems.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
    • Associate degree in computer science or related field.
    • Strong working knowledge of computer systems, hardware, and software.
    • Understanding of basic security techniques and safeguarding data.
    • Good problem solving, analytical, and team-working skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Must possess knowledge in Windows Operating systems (Windows XP, 7, 10, 2012 R2, 2016, 2019), Microsoft Office 365 applications, Microsoft Active Directory Administration, Outlook, Apple iPad, iPod, iPhone (very little to no Mac experience required), understanding of network infrastructure protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), PC and laptop hardware (Dell, HP, Lenovo), and on-premise SharePoint experience preferred (but not required).

    This position will require the candidate to be mobile, the individual would share duties between both facilities located in Centerbrook and Norwich.
