Job Description – Administrative Assistant

We are currently hiring a highly organized and detail-oriented full-time Administrative Assistant to start on April 9th, 2024 at the IBEW/NECA Electrical Apprenticeship School in Anchorage. This is a small office employing a statewide training director, office managre, and 2 full-time instructors. Additionally, 3 – 4 part time instructors work in the fall/winter months, while students are in class. Work hours are 8am – 12pm and 1pm – 5pm, Monday thru Friday.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Answer multiple telephone lines and take messages as needed

Greet office visitors

Communicate effectively with 250 students and multiple contractors

Communicate with and answer questions to the general public

Problem solve

Use our database to enter data and produce reports

Schedule and set up quarterly interviews for 30-50 applicants

Track and organize periodic advertising

Perform outreach at recruitment events

Keep accurate electronic records

Job Qualifications

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Able to manage competing priorities

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Pay and Benefits

Pay is DOE, starting at $25.00 per hour
