Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will be responsible for analyzing project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating, cost control, and project management.
Responsibilities:
- Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to understand the scope of work
- Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment
- Collaborate with general contractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing
- Analyze project risks and develop contingency plans
- Prepare bid packages and submit proposals to clients
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits
- Assist in value engineering efforts to optimize project costs
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase and provide cost control recommendations
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and related documentation
Skills:
- Strong knowledge in electrical estimating principles and techniques
- Proficiency in using estimating software such as TRF/Cert-In, Bluebeam or similar tools
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Solid understanding of project management principles
- Familiarity with construction contracts, including NEC (New Engineering Contract)
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
