  • The Electrical Technician assumes a high level of responsibility early, supporting our field teams in their delivery of client services. Successful Electrical Technicians are fast learners and self-motivated, independent workers. They must have the ability to work under pressure and the willingness to work in varying conditions.

    Electrician Duties:

    • Assembles, installs, tests, and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
    • Diagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
    • Connects wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
    • Inspects electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustments or repairs, and to ensure compliance with codes.
    • Advises management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
    • Tests electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
    • Plans layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
    • Assists department in various tasks and or assignments

    Qualifications:

    • Must have your own tools and be a self-starter and be able to work on your own
    • Need a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
    • Must be punctual and reliable
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience
    • Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g., wire strippers, voltmeter etc.) and electrical drawings and blueprints
    • Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines
    • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability

    Additional Skills Desired

    • Journeyman license preferred but not required.
    • Successful completion of a trade/vocational school is preferred but not required.

    Other Requirements

    • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
    • Valid social security number
    • Must be able to pass drug test(s) as required by company
    • Lift up to 50 pounds; be able to push, pull, carry or maneuver heavier items (with additional manpower or appropriate devices); carry ladders; work from heights, work in small crawl spaces.
