Being an Electrical Utility Trouble Shooter may be required to be certified in an area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Electrical Utility Trouble Shooter relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. DEFINITION:
The Electric Utility Maintenance Technician will be enrolled in a structured learning program where they will learn new skills associated with electrical power distribution systems maintenance. Under the direction of the General Foreman, an Electric Utility Maintenance Technician performs general maintenance tasks on company equipment as described below. Electric Utility Maintenance Technicians will not work directly on power lines or any other medium- or high-voltage equipment.
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
· Qualify as a Confined Space Monitor
· Qualify as an Infrared Thermal Inspector
· Qualify for unescorted substation entry
· Qualify as a Line Patroller to locate faults during an outage
· Qualify as a System Switching Operator
Perform duties as assigned by field supervisors
