    SALARY:
    $31.34 per hour

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Required:
    • EKG instructor must have at least (3) years of relevant work experience, including 12 Lead, Treadmill, Stress tests, and Holter monitoring.

    Preferred:
    • Any license that includes EKG training or Certified EKG Technician (CET or CCT) through National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or another Cardiovascular Credentialing agency.
    Additional Eligibility Requirements:
    • Valid driver’s license

    Position Type & Work Schedule:
    • 9 or 10 months
    • Part-Time
    • 19 hours per week (Yuma campus or TBD)
    • May include some Fridays, evenings, and weekends

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • Knowledge of course delivery processes
    • Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training designed teaching and instruction for individuals and groups.
    • Knowledge of student learning outcomes
    • Knowledge of appropriate subject matter and the application of the subject matter for the discipline being taught
    • Knowledge of relevant equipment, policy procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
    • The ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
    • Ability to plan, organize, implement, evaluate, and modify instructional processes.

    Work Environment:
    • Inside office environment with normal noise and lighting levels
    • Various noise levels for the outdoors and event settings

    SUMMARY OF FUNCTION:
    Under the supervision of the Director of Allied Health delivers didactic and lab instruction, supervises, educates, and evaluates EKG students for readiness to provide safe care to persons in a healthcare setting. Certified Cardiographic or EKG technicians are allied health professionals trained to perform various diagnostic procedures as directed by a physician. This would entail creating a student-centered learning environment accessible to individual learners with diverse educational needs and goals through guided instruction.

    TYPICAL DUTIES:
    Teaching Responsibilities:
    • Serve students. Prepare assignments. This includes studying/customizing existing/facilitator guides and possibly developing or enhancing the curriculum.
    • Prepares teaching instruments for instructional areas.
    • Able to perform and explain EKG rhythm analysis and have a good understanding of the basic understanding of EKG as well as the cardiac conduction system and anatomy.
    • Able to follow a lesson plan and focus the class on achieving and meeting specific objectives for the course content for students to achieve a job as an EKG/Telemetry technician.
    • Ensures practical learning tools (i.e., handouts, workbooks, A/V materials, and simulations) are ready in ample time for the beginning of class.
    • Sets up and cleans up classrooms assigned, including, ensuring all a/v, computer equipment, and other electrical items are turned off before leaving, putting classroom back in order, and returning chairs/tables to their original set- up.
    • Keeps current in the area(s) of expertise related to continuing educational assignments.

    College Responsibility:
    • Working with the Director of Allied Health and coordinating regular reviews of the program to ensure effectiveness and alignment with the College mission and values and in meeting community/workforce needs
    • Attends meetings and professional development workshops/training as requested.
    • Develop and implement processes and tools for assessing teaching and student learning outcomes incorporating appropriate methodologies and technology.
    • Remain current with applicable local, state, and national standards/licensures/regulatory requirements that directly impact and influence programmatic offerings and instructional methodologies.
    • Maintain individual certifications required by local, state, and national licensing and regulatory agencies.

    Additional Responsibility:
    • Supports and participates in strategic initiatives and performs other duties as assigned
