Electromechanical Technician jobs in Chicago, IL

Express Employment is seeking a skilled Actuator Technician or Electromechanical Technician for a Direct Hire position with a client local to South Holland, IL. This is a hands-on role that requires a strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems as well as 75% travel to support work along the pipelines.

Pay Range $20-$30

Requirements:

• Actuator/Valve mechanical knowledge, basic electric knowledge including 3 phase power, Low voltage control circuits.
• Employer supplied hand & power tools, test meter (fluke 787 or 789).

Travel required: Overnight, 75% travel

Overtime & after hours: yes, when available

Job Duties:

• Electric & Pneumatic Actuators- test, troubleshoot, disassemble, assemble using various hand & power tools, various test meters.
• Valves- test, troubleshoot, disassemble, assemble using various hand & power tools
• Knowledge & use of hand & power tools
• Work on “live” electrical circuits, high voltage and low voltage
• Operate & maintain various shop equipment: heated parts washer, sand blaster, press, solvent parts washer, air compressor, forklift, pallet jack, chain fall, floor sweeper and any other equipment as needed.
• Load & unload trucks, trailers
• Maintain inventory records, consumable supply levels
• Keep work and shop area neat, clean and organized
• Able to communicate in English, verbal and written
• Able to read and understand electrical schematics, blueprints
