Electromechanical Technician fabricates, tests, analyzes, and adjusts precision electromechanical instruments. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Being an Electromechanical Technician may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Electromechanical Technician relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. - Looking for a Technician that has a mix of both mechanical and electrical experience - Perform wiring and assembly functions to add various components to finished PCBs and harnesses - Build/incorporate motors, encoders, and switches onto electrical products - Also add mechanical components like belts, machined parts, fasteners and greases - Electrical work may be terminating a wiring harness or checking continuity - Majority mechanical work, using hand tools like calipers and torque wrenches to produce a complex final assembly - May perform some preliminary testing, however more often this person is passing their work to the Testing team
