This group leads the development of our Enterprise Datawarehouse/Data Lakes applications. The Data Engineering Manager will be passionate about data-driven information which will guide and influence key business decisions. Key Qualifications Multiple years of Data Engineering management experience leading and supporting the development and maintenance of applications, tools, and processes. Core technical experience includes Data Integration, Data Management and Data Visualization. Experiencing in partnering with data architects in architecting, building, and maintaining complex, multi-component big data systems. Track record of building and leading high-performance Data engineering teams. Strong sense of ownership of the development process and the will to drive the team toward constant code, application, and process improvements. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively across multiple business and technical teams. Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and social skills - Lead by example to empower and challenge the team to deliver their best. Shown ability to work under pressure while maintaining a high level of quality and integrity. BA/BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Master’s degree a plus Duties and Responsibilities Technical: Serve as the technical expert responsible for the design, and implementation of Enterprise Data Warehouse & Business Intelligence solutions, with complete and accurate information information/data delivery using maintainable, systematic, and automated procedures. Drive the design, building, and launching of new data pipelines in production. Establish and maintain data marts where appropriate. Establish and define data integration, data validation, data cleansing, and data management practices. Managerial: Provide leadership and management to a team of data engineers. You’ll split your time between unblocking your team, vetting their designs, and coaching them to realize their full potential, while also building things yourself. Proactively mentor and grow the team, identify the required skills, hire the best talent, actively manage their performance, and help them to grow to their fullest potential. Proactively drive the vision for data engineering and define & execute on a plan to achieve that vision. Build cross-functional relationships with Data Scientists, Product Managers, Software Engineers, and leaders in Regional Managements business to understand data needs and deliver on those needs. Manage issues and bugs within the system using tracking/ support systems; liaise with internal and external resources to facilitate resolution and closure. Minimum Qualifications 7 years as a lead data engineer in developing & managing data pipelines using ETL/ELT tools and data visualization using business intelligence tools. 3 years as a Data Engineering Manager managing multiple Agile Squads/Teams that works on multiple projects in an Agile environment. Hands-on Technologist - Experience developing solutions involving data lakes and/or data warehouse on Snowflake/AWS DataBricks/Amazon RedShift using tools such as SSIS, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, Matillion, DBT, FiveTran Preferred Qualifications Experience with one or more of the following languages (Python, Scala) and related development tools to support Data Science initiatives. Experience with one or more of the following platforms: HDFS, Yarn, Spark, Impala, Kafka, HBase, MapReduce, Kubernetes, Object Store, Flink Managing a virtual team that works across different time zones.
